Court sentences Orji Kalu to 12 years in Jail

A former governor of Abia state, Orji Uzor Kalu, has been condemned to 12 years in prison after he was seen as liable of N7.65bn extortion.

The multi year sentence is the most noteworthy among the 39 tallies indicting the respondents, the least sentence being three years.

Mr Kalu's organization, Slok Nigeria Ltd was requested to be relinquished to the central government.

The court found the second convict, his previous chief of Finance Jonnes udeogo blameworthy of 34 tallies.
