Anambra Government bans movement of fuel tankers during daytime

The Anambra state government has prohibited the movement of fuel tankers during the daytime following the deadly occurrences seen in the state as of late.

Anambra state's Commissioner for Information, Don Adinuba said fuel tankers are just permitted to move inside the state from 8 p.m. to 5a.m. He added that the confinement is to empower offices like the Anambra State Fire Service, the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Road Safety Corps, the Civil Defense, the Anambra Traffic Management Agency and different offices to react adequately and in great time.

The announcement peruses "Following the perpetual breakdown of trucks conveying oil based goods in Anambra State as of late, incorporating one which occurred in Onitsha before today(Thursday), the Anambra State Government has chosen to confine the time which vehicles loaded down with oil based goods can move in the state.

"With impact from Saturday, November 2, 2019, such vehicles can be permitted to move inside Anambra State from just 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

"The confinement is to empower organizations like the Anambra State Fire Service, the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Road Safety Corps, the Civil Defense, the Anambra Traffic Management Agency and in fact all other security, law authorization and wellbeing offices to react adequately and in great time to crises made by such mishaps."
