Man accidentally shoot himself while trying to shoot a target

A man has died in London after incidentally shooting himself while attempting to shoot somebody down, witnesses have claimed.

Officials were called to Sydenham Road in Lewisham at 3.45pm on Sunday, to reports of suspicious action in the region. Shots were then heard before a man, accepted to be in his 20s, was found with gunfire wounds. He kicked the bucket at the scene only five minutes after the fact.

One lady, 56, living on close by Venner Road depicted seeing the man trying to shoot another person before being hit by the bullet himself.


"After it occurred, the kid he [tried] to shoot remained there taping him."

The lady said she accepted the injured individual had no guardians.

She stated: "He's been there for three hours secured by a sheet. No mum, no father. It's extremely miserable."

A businessperson on the close by high road likewise said he had heard reports the man shot himself.

He stated: "A gathering of folks were sitting in a vehicle by the bank and a major person came up to them with a shotgun."

"They all escaped the vehicle and ran so the person chose to harm the vehicle with the back of the firearm. As he was hitting the windows the weapon went off and he shot himself – that is the thing that we've been told."

Different observers said various gossipy tidbits regarding the shooting were coursing in the nearby network.

One man stated: "We've heard three or four unique stories – we've heard it was a person on a sulked, somebody in a vehicle and afterward that the [victim] did it to himself."

Police say there have been no captures at this stage and enquiries are proceeding to happen.

Ellie Reeves, Labor MP for Lewisham West and Penge, responded to the shooting on Twitter, stating: "Stunned and disheartened to learn of the deadly shooting in Sydenham this evening. My contemplations are with the person in question and their family. This viciousness has no spot in our locale."
